Heidi Klum Stands By Being Topless Around Her Kids And Shares How It’s Shaped Them

Heidi Klum has spoken out in defense of her choice to be topless around her children, explaining the influence it’s had on how they see themselves and their bodies. The supermodel stirred up conversation after sharing pictures on Instagram featuring her and her daughter, Leni Klum. One video, in particular, raised eyebrows when it appeared to show the 52-year-old playing around with Leni’s underwear.

Since Leni turned 18, she has worked alongside her famous mom on multiple projects. Their joint campaigns have included photo shoots for lingerie and sleepwear brands.

Back in 2023, the joint photoshoots sparked a wave of criticism. But Klum didn’t stay quiet —she faced it directly and shared her perspective.During an interview with People magazine, the model responded by saying“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together’.”

“But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. She’s fine with me like that.”

“I’ve always been very open with my body.”“When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I’m European. My kids don’t know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it.”

While Heidi is definitely more relaxed and body-positive at home compared to many other moms, that doesn’t mean she isn’t like every other parent who constantly worries about their kids’ well-being and growth.

Klum is mom to four children — Leni, 21, from her relationship with businessman Flavio Briatore, and Henry, 19, Johan, 18, and Lou, 15, from her marriage to singer Seal.Reflecting on parenting challenges, she said: “When they’re young, you’re worried they’re going to jump in the pool or stick their finger in a socket.”

“Then they’re driving. Then it’s sex, drugs and rock and roll. You hope the seed you planted in them grows. That they’re good people. That they’re healthy. But you always worry. And I know I’ll still be worrying when I’m 80.”

In a separate conversation with the Mail Online, Klum opened up about the pushback she received two years ago after featuring her daughter in marketing campaigns. She responded to the backlash by saying: “It’s been fun to shoot together. To do photoshoots together with her and just to see how she’s just very comfortable and also comfortable around me even when we’re doing underwear shoots or something like that.”

“It makes me proud that my daughter is super comfortable in her skin also in front of me and around me because not every kid is in the world.”“So, I love that we have this beautiful relationship.”
