A new advisory has been issued for married couples regarding the proposed $2,000 \u201ctariff dividend\u201d payments that Donald Trump has pledged to send to most U.S. citizens.<\/p>\n

While the official guidelines haven\u2019t been fully outlined, additional details are gradually being revealed about who may qualify.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cA dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although many are skeptical about whether these checks will materialize or how practical they may be, Trump and his administration have slowly been releasing bits of information about the timing, the amount, and the qualifying criteria.<\/p>\n

Naturally, more questions have followed, such as who would actually be eligible, whether there will be income caps, and if such payments are economically feasible in the first place.<\/p>\n

According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who spoke with Fox News, the rebates will most likely be directed toward families making \u201cless than, say, $100,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

What does this mean for married couples?
\nYouTuber and Social Security commentator Blind to Billionaire recently posted a video breaking down what is currently known.<\/p>\n

When discussing the term \u201cmoderate income,\u201d he clarified that eligibility simply comes down to earnings:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is based on your income \u2014 period,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He explained it plainly:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you make under $75,000 a year as an individual, yes or no? That\u2019s all you need to know. If the answer is yes, you\u2019re very likely eligible.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then showed a clip of Trump stating that these \u201cdividend\u201d payments could start going out \u201cin the middle of next year\u201d and would be aimed at people with \u201cmoderate incomes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blind to Billionaire also addressed common worries from viewers \u2013 such as being unemployed, receiving Social Security benefits, or not filing a tax return \u2013 reassuring them that these factors likely won\u2019t disqualify anyone.<\/p>\n

According to him, the expected income thresholds would be:<\/p>\n

$75,000 or less for individuals<\/p>\n

$150,000 or less for married couples<\/p>\n

Another problem
\nAside from income, he emphasized that there isn\u2019t much else to stress about.<\/p>\n

For married couples, this may prompt a closer look at combined earnings, but as he points out, anyone earning above the thresholds is already in a relatively stable financial position.<\/p>\n

However, he did caution viewers that conflicting information is circulating because the government has not yet released a formal written plan. As a result, many public comments are speculative.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also another problem, according to some experts. Paying $2,000 to roughly 150 million adults earning $100,000 or less would require about $300 billion in revenue, Erica York, vice president of federal tax policy at the Tax Foundation, noted in a post on X.<\/p>\n
