Whoopi Goldberg Defends Taylor Swift Amid Chiefs Fans Accusing Her Of Travis Kelce\u2019s \u201cSlow Start\u201d To NFL Season: \u201cYour Team Is Doing Well, Shut Up!\u201d
\nWhoopi Goldberg is not here for Taylor Swift\u2019s vilification and defended the singer amid the Kansas City Chiefs fans trying to blame her for Travis Kelce\u2019s \u201cslow start\u201d to the NFL season<\/p>\n
The View took to the \u201cHot Topics\u201d table to debate some fans saying Swift is the culprit of Kelce\u2019s slowest start to the football season since his rookie season<\/p>\n
Apparently they forgot that they won the Super Bowl last year with [Kelce] and they were just as tight then as they are now,\u201d Goldberg said.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs have won all three games this season, but Kelce has only had eight catches for 69 yards and zero touchdowns so far.<\/p>\n
Swift attended Kelce\u2019s first two games and skipped the latest game, in which the Chiefs faced off against the Falcons, which ended with a score of 22-17.<\/p>\n
The View\u2019s resident Swiftie, Alyssa Farah Griffin, noted, \u201cAs I understand it, football is a team sport, so just because [Kelce\u2019s] not making touchdowns doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s not contributing to the success of the team. They\u2019re currently undefeated this season, and once again, just the classic blaming a woman.\u201d
\n\u201cThis is a guy who\u2019s doing movies now, he\u2019s doing television commercials, he\u2019s doing all kinds of stuff,\u201d Goldberg said of Kelce. \u201cHe might have been a little busy, and maybe he\u2019s not 12 anymore. He\u2019s still a valuable player.\u201d
\nSunny Hostin agreed with Goldberg that the backlash stemmed from \u201cthe crazy MAGA people.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGrow up yall,\u201d Goldberg added. \u201cGrow up! Stop putting this on her. Your team is fine. Your team is doing well, shut up!\u201d
\nFollowing the game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes addressed Kelce\u2019s slow start.<\/p>\n
The respect factor [teams] have for Travis is just unreal. We\u2019re calling a lot of plays for Travis and it\u2019s like two or three people are going to him,\u201d Mahomes said, according to \u201cHe understands.
